Deputy Director – Research & Evaluation

New Delhi Breakthrough is looking for a Deputy Director – Research and Evaluation. The person will report to the Director – Monitoring & Evaluation and is responsible for coordinating research, evaluation and reporting activities under the specific projects. The person will be responsible to lead the technical design assignments pertaining to Research and Evaluation.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:  

• Lead the technical design of assignments, comprised of identifying research/evaluation questions, developing theory of change, developing indicators, compiling Log frame, considering the appropriate research methodology including sampling design and tool development.
• Designing, conducting and managing large scale research and evaluations, data analysis, report writing and disseminating results.
• Provide feedback to campaign and implementation team for programme improvement
• Publish articles and knowledge products
• Lead on the commissioning and management of external evaluators or research teams for particular projects, as required
• Identify areas for research and be an active part of the Research and Evaluation team in BT

Requirements:

• D./Masters in Economics, Anthropology/Gender studies/Development studies Social work/ Statistics or PGDRD or equivalent
• 12 to 15 years of proven work experience in development sector including monitoring, research and evaluation.
• Data analysis and interpretation and report writing.
• Knowledge of SPSS/NVivo/STATA or any other quantitative software is a must
• Knowledge of qualitative software would be an added advantage
• Good command over written and spoken English and Hindi.
• Self-starter, team player and quality oriented
• Good hands-on experience of working on projects
• Nuanced understanding of gender and feminist politics will be preferred
