Senior Coordinator- Community Development

Breakthrough is looking for a Senior Coordinator – Community Development for Hazaribagh, Bihar. The person will work at the field to ensure the smooth execution of the community interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparatory work at Revenue Village, Gram Panchayat as well as block level to ensure maximum number of participants at locations where activities will be organized.
• To ensure the effective roll out of school level intervention “Ujjawal Tara” as per the schedule on time.
• Ensuring maximum participation of PRIs, stakeholders and youth during the convergence meetings, Roshan Taara and other community mobilization activities.
• Maintain good rapport with local police, BDO, CDPO, BEEO, other officials of line department, stakeholders, PRI members and partner NGOs.
• Support in other on ground activities like convergence meeting, regular meeting with School Principals/Teachers, meeting with KishoriMandals (Roshan Tara), meeting with AWW/Sahiya (ASHA), ANMs, youth etc. as per PIP at Revenue Village/GP Level.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly work plan of own and team.
• Preparing reports of all activities and maintain data base of participants, merchandise etc.
• Any other programme/organization related work as are assigned by the Senior Manager-Implementation.

Qualification

• Bachelors in Social Work/Women Studies/Sociology
• At least 2 years work experience in similar field

Skills and Competencies:

• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Training and facilitation skills especially with adolescents
• Complete and in-depth understanding of gender, sexuality, menstrual health and hygiene
• Strong networking and presentation skills
• Accurate with strong attention to detail
• Understanding of communication strategy and ability to translate key messages into actions
• Ability to travel frequently to remote villages and work independently
• Ability to interact with children and adolescent girls, community on various aspect of developmental issues in light of women’s & adolescent right.

Preferably a local having knowledge of geographical areas of Hazaribag and good command over local dialects
