Breakthrough is going to add another state to its scale up plans – Odisha. We have had a series of very successful meetings with the Education Department of the Odisha Government. They have agreed to work with Breakthrough and JPAL to include a gender lens in their existing social sciences curriculum across 23,000 government schools and train teachers to deliver the curriculum and build more awareness around gender equity in schools . The number of adolescents we will reach here will be almost 4 times more than in Punjab. We are very excited to add Odisha as a new state and also work closely with the education department in creating gender transformative schools.
