As a part of 16 Days of Activism, Breakthrough held a training session in collaboration with Mumbai-based NGO SNEHA on gender-based violence, talking about different forms of violence using music videos as well as stories for the community.
The aim of the session was for women to talk about the violence they had faced in their lives and to mark where the violence had occurred on a map of Dharavi. The map will be displayed at the first ever Dharavi Biennial which will take place next year.
By the end of the four sessions, Breakthrough had trained approximately 240 women, all of whom were confident enough to speak up, shout out and break the silence around sexual harassment.
