Breakthrough is looking for a Senior Manager – Partnerships & Alliance, who would be responsible for developing strategies for partnerships with governments and other stakeholders. It focuses on strategic planning, implementation, budgeting, and risk management to ensure timely and high-quality programme delivery. It also includes field visits to provide technical guidance and strengthen on-ground implementation.

The specific job responsibilities are mentioned below:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network and liaison with the concerned representatives from national, state and local Government departments 
  • Develop and implement the national and state positioning agenda of Breakthrough and ensure required permissions and support from government departments for ongoing projects.
  • Develop strategies for project implementation in the intervention states, budget monitoring and coordination with donors, develop partners and other stakeholders 
  • Development and implementation of Project Implementation Plan (PIP), annual, half yearly and quarterly action plans and manage the risks involved 
  • Plan and oversee the project to ensure that it is completed in a timely manner and within the allocated budget
  • Plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, and keep the stakeholders well informed
  • Responsible for ensuring the training programs are implemented with utmost quality and in a timely manner
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual reviews with the team and give inputs for timely and effective program delivery 
  • Supervise and support team in planning, monitoring, budgeting and overall management of the projects with quality 
  • Represent Breakthrough in national and state-level meetings involving government and development partners 
  • Support in team handling and team capacity building 
  • Undertake field visits to provide technical inputs and feedback to improve the quality of projects implemented on the ground.


Skills, Competencies & Experience Required:

  • At least 10 to 12 years of experience required in the similar field;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English. Additional language skills will be appreciated;
  • Good understanding and experience of budget development and management;
  • Strong networking skills with government departments, civil society organizations;
  • Works well in a team and is able to delegate;
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Excel PowerPoint and internet skills etc;
  • Sound understanding of gender and education;
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports and proposals and to meet required reporting deadlines.
