Baletha, Akbarpur, Kanpur Dehat

As the partner of Shramik Bharti organization, we work in the social field to bring the change in society. Shramik Bharti invited Breakthrough to their Annual General Meeting to facilitate a session on DV in Baletha, Kanpur Dehat organised by Chetna Mahila Samiti, Abarbur has organized the meeting. The meeting was attended by ca. 1500 SHG women and community women was present.
चेतना महिला समिति का परिचय
चेतना महिला समिति ब्लाक अकबरपुर के समूहों के सदस्यों के आर्थिक व सामाजिक विकास हेतु समूहों की देख करती है. समूहों के सदस्यों की छ्मता वृद्धि हेतु समय समय पर प्रशिक्षण व अध्यन, यात्रा करायी जाती है. समिति द्वारा समय समय पर आवश्यकता अनुसार जानकारी उपलब्ध करायी जाती है.

Maya Parhan of Sambarpur Village talked about Breakthrough’s work and the campaign on Waqt Ki Awaaz. She said:
“अगर हम कहीं भी हिंसा, मारपीट, गाली गलौज देखें तो उसके विरुद्ध आवाज़ उठानी है, चुप नहीं रहना है. चुप्पी तोड़ो, हिंसा रोको इसी को लेकर संस्था ब्रेकथ्रू एक अभियान लाया है- “घरेलू हिंसा रोको और बेल बजाओ”. ३० सितम्बर को आप सब सामुदायिक रेडियो वक़्त की आवाज़ में आइये, जहाँ आप लोगो को सरकारी तंत्र के लोग जो घरेलू घटना की रिपोर्ट लिखते हैं, उनसे मिलने का मौका मिलेगा.”
President of Shakti Mahila Samiti, Rasoolabad addressed to the group,
“हर एक व्यक्ति के अपने अधिकार होते हैं. फिर चाहे वो लड़का हो या फिर लड़की. फिर क्यूँ हम एक लड़की से उसके जीने का, स्वतंत्रता का अधिकार छीनते हैं. भेदभाव करते हैं. आप सब ने जो अपना समूह बनाया है और उसमे जितनी भी आमदनी बचायी है उस पर आप का हक है.”
After this a street play was performed which was directed and produced by the members of Chetna Mahlia Samiti which showd the violence women experience after dowry.
Some women then shared their work and the number of women joined the group.
Mr. Ganesh founder of Shramik Bharti addressed to the group about Human Rights of Women, Violence.
We have to break the social norm which differentiates a human. We have to speak, stand and bring the change, in this the organization, Breakthrough is also working to stop VAW and we (Shramik Bharti and Breakthrough) are working together in the social field.
Mr. Ganesh also addressed the group about the campaign which is going on Radio and about Jansunvayi and told all the women to attend the Jansunvayi.
After this, as the facilitator, I welcomed the group and talked to them about Domestic Violence its types as well as the program, “Ghareloo Hinsa Roko, Bell Bajao” currently running on Community Radio. When asked how many of them tuned into the show, every woman raised her hand.
The women also asked questions about the campaign and the issue including:
- “घरेलू हिंसा है क्या?
- क्या हम जनसुनवाई में आ सकते हैं?
- वहां हम क्या सीधे सवाल जवाब कर सकते हैं?
- क्या हम अपनी कहानी उस मंच पर साझा कर सकते हैं?
This was followed by a performance by the theater group Samajik Shrishti Sansthan on domestic violence. After the play Shramik Bharti gives thanks note to the SHG’s members and all the partners who was the part of this meeting.
