Breakthrough conducted Capacity Building training with 30 Team Change Leaders in Sonipat, Haryana. TCLs are young volunteer leaders in the age group of 19 to 25 based out of Breakthrough’s Direct Intervention (DI) areas. They were introduced with Breakthrough work on upbringing of Gender Equality in the community They are also expected to work as a bridge between adolescents and community to address GBD issues that become barriers in their aspirations. TCLs found these sessions very useful and shared their experience that these sessions are connected with their personal lives.

Film-making Workshop with TCL

12 TCL from Dabua colony in Faridabad attended a 15 days filmmaking workshop. They conceptualised and created two music videos inspired from the true events and situations of Dabua Colony. One of the video नज़रें – नज़रें is based on the daily stories of uncomfortable male gaze on the streets while the other video काम करती आती is made up of the stories of 3 women from different age groups.

Training of TCL in Jharkhand

So far 27 team change leaders have been identified in Jharkhand to take initiatives on problems and issues faced by adolescents and the community. The objective of the TCL program is to build a cohort of change agents who catalyse norm change that results in GBD and GBV being unacceptable in online and offline spaces. The training focused on the BT vision, mission and understanding on gender based violence, dreams and aspirations.
