Breakthrough has developed Taaron Ki Toli (TKT) application. The digital TKT journey for adolescents between the ages of 11-14 years begins with learning about self, using life-skills, and social emotional learning to identify, prevent and/or intervene in incidents of gender based discrimination and/ or violence against women and girls. This is an online learning journey using different games and tools to make it interactive. It enables the users to learn about themselves and further to inspire others in their circles of influence to create a gender-equitable society. Our goal is to reach approximately 1.2 lakhs adolescents by the end of Feb 2025.

For this Breakthrough is looking for a Consultant – Partnership Development for our Scale Up and Strategic Partnership center at Delhi for 11 months. The consultant shall report to Manager – Digital Marketing.

The detailed job description is as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership development plan: The consultant will develop and execute comprehensive partnership development plans that are aimed at increasing app downloads, improving user engagement, and maximizing user retention aligning with Breakthrough’s vision and mission.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, colleges, civil society organisations working with adolescents, and other relevant partners.
  • Optimize app store listings: The consultant will optimize app store listings by creating compelling app descriptions, screenshots, and videos to drive more downloads.
  • Pitching and promoting mobile app usage in schools and civil society organisations working with adolescents.

Key deliverables:

  • The app has a progressively increasing user base: with a minimum of total target of 1.20 Lacs user by the end of Feb 2025 and monthly reach of approx. 11000 adolescents.
  • The app is being used by adolescents

Reporting requirements: 

  • Measure and report on performance: The consultant will track app metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on the app’s performance, including downloads, retention rates, user engagement, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: The consultant will work closely with the product development team, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the app meets user needs and provides a seamless user experience in alignment with the Breakthrough’s goals, vision, and mission
  • Analyse user behaviour: The consultant will track user behaviour, app usage, and user feedback to improve the app’s functionality and overall user experience.
  • Total number of users activated.

Specific Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in mobile app marketing or advertising
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are also essential for success in this role
  • Experience in working with mobile analytics tools, app store optimization, and mobile advertising networks is also preferred

Fee and Payment Terms:

The monthly consultancy for this role is approximately INR 55,000. Which shall be paid as fixed monthly fee of INR 20,000 per month against monthly deliverables and reporting against them plus a target based incentive by on-boarding of the unique adolescent at INR 3.5 per user.

Earlier partnerships with the Ministry of Women and Child Development for dissemination of our media and IEC products which ensures that the messaging reaches large numbers as can be seen by the Bell Bajao campaign that reached 130 million in Phase I and 110 million in Phase II. The support was received pro-bono and is estimated to be worth INR 150 million. The Ministry has adopted Breakthrough’s MissionHazaar campaign on preventing sex selection under its flagship “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign and is disseminating the TV spots, curriculum and communication guide in 12 Indian languages.

Breakthrough’s current work spans across 5 states on transforming gender norms to prevent violence against women and girls and exploring the interlinkages between its various manifestations. Breakthrough makes innovative use of media, arts and technology including digital and mobiles, leadership development and community mobilisation to activate critical mass of people who will deliver the culture change needed to make violence against women and girls unacceptable. Centre to this is a gender equity curriculum, called Taron ki Toli that builds gender equitable views among adolescents 11–18-year-olds, in school and in the community. Breakthrough uses leadership development to build capacities of 15–25-year-olds to transform themselves and recruit others to make violence against women and girls unacceptable. It also works in the community with influencers and gatekeepers to shift norms to prevent violence and build values for girls and women. Media and arts infuse all our work and building evidence is a strong focus. Strategic partnership with governments is key – currently partnering with the Department of Education, Government of Punjab to apply gender lens to middle school curriculum across government schools. Currently reaching 573,000 adolescents and their communities to prevent violence against women and promote a culture of human rights, Breakthrough plans to reach 2 million adolescents over the next few years.
