Breakthrough is looking for a Senior Manager – Corporate & HNI (High Networth Individual) Fundraising in Delhi who will be responsible for building, driving and implementing the strategy for a successful fundraising programme to raise funds from the corporate sector and HNI’s on an agreed annual target.

The role requires collaboration with the Head of Resource Mobilization to implement the corporate fundraising strategy as well as the High Net Worth Individual (HNI) strategy, ensuring the generation of income meets targets while building a successful pipeline of donors. Manage existing corporate donors by providing donor servicing and retention, resolving queries, and delivering grant reporting. Additionally, acquire new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) clients from both private and public sector companies/ corporates in India, and work towards expanding the HNI donor base for Breakthrough.

This role will report to the Head of Resource Mobilisation.

Corporate Fundraising Responsibilities:

  • Research and targeting of relevant companies for CSR; secondary research on companies – their campaigns, products, CSR focus areas
  • Analysis of CSR trends/ reports on philanthropy.
  • Communication with corporate donors – both acquisition, servicing, and retention.
  • Develop concept notes, proposals, presentations, award applications, due diligence work.
  • Provide inputs for the creation of grant agreements with the corporate partners to ensure they meet donor requirements and manage them in terms of seeking extensions or tracking under-spends.
  • Review and ensure timely submission of donor reports to all the corporate donors
  • Ensure updation and maintenance of MIS, database and internal reporting

HNI Fundraising Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement a successful HNI fundraising plan along with the Head of Resource Mobilisation with a focus on maintaining and growing the HNI donor base and ensuring goals and targets are being met on a month-on-month basis.
  • Scope and grow HNI donor base, manage and develop long-term relationships with the donors and upgrade them up the donor pyramid.
  • Effectively convey the organisation’s mission, vision, and programmes to potential donors over face-to-face meetings.
  • Plan donor engagement activities, events etc in line with the HNI strategy.
  • Donor relationship management-end to end donor management from onboarding to retention by ensuring donor delight.

Skills, Competencies & Experience Required:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in fundraising and donor management. Prior experience working in the social sector with a gender rights organisation will be a plus.
  • Previous experience in Business Development, wealth management or financial services will be a plus.
  • Target driven and result oriented with a proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, along with strong networking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand the strategic aims of the organisation and to translate these into pitches. Ability to operationalise strategy along with excellent management and organisation skills.
  • Understanding of communication strategy and ability to translate key messages into content.
