Information For Survivors Of Domestic Violence.

We know that 1 in 3 women in India suffer sexual and physical violence at home (Source: National Family Health Survey (NFHS-4). This data is indicative of just how pressing the issue of domestic violence is in our country.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, when we’ve all been confined to our homes, we have seen a spike in cases of domestic violence. As we grapple with multiple waves of Covid-19, we realise that the pandemic is not just a health crisis and is impacting people in several ways, the rise in domestic violence being one of them. Understanding this, we have put together some resources with the aim of supporting survivors of domestic violence in English and Hindi.

हम जानते हैं कि भारत में 3 में से 1 महिला घर पर यौन और शारीरिक हिंसा का शिकार होती है [स्रोत: राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वेक्षण (NFHS-4)]। यह डेटा इस बात का संकेत है कि हमारे देश में घरेलू हिंसा का मुद्दा कितना गंभीर है।

कोविड -19 महामारी के दौरान, जब हम सभी अपने घरों में बंद हो गए हैं, हमने घरेलू हिंसा के मामलों में वृद्धि देखी है। कोविड -19 की कई लहरों से जूझते हुए हमें समझ आ गया है कि यह महामारी केवल एक स्वास्थ्य संकट नहीं है और लोगों को कई तरह से प्रभावित कर रही है। घरेलू हिंसा में वृद्धि भी इस महामारी का एक प्रभाव है। इसलिए हमने घरेलू हिंसा का सामना करने वाली औरतों के सहयोग के उद्देश्य से कुछ संसाधन/ज़रूरी जानकारी इकट्ठा किये हैं – अंग्रेजी और हिंदी में।
